Green Manifesto

 

As a nonprofit law firm, we acknowledge the importance of, and aspire to positively affect, the quality of life experienced by low-income and senior Oklahomans.  Motivated by these values and principles, we seek out injustice and attempt to “right it”.  With this in mind, we are faced with a global consensus that the environment is being adversely affected through waste, over consumption, and inattention. Responding with the values we hold as an agency, it is our intention to make a marked contribution toward improvement of the quality of life experienced by organization staff, clients, and the broader community – not only in regard to the justice system, but also with respect to the establishment of a “greener” environment for all.

Consistent with LASO’s core values of integrity, service, and achievement of justice, LASO’s Board of Directors commit to the following course of action as individuals and as an organization:

• Seeking out ways to make an increasingly positive carbon impact;
• Searching for vendors that adhere to a “green imprint;”
• Facilitating “green” awareness of co-workers, clients, family, and community;
• Reducing waste, over consumption, and inattention with respect to our environment.

Finally, we commit our resources to achieving the outcome intended by this manifesto. To this end, LASO’s Board of Directors requests LASO management to review its various systems, processes, and facilities, and to address and correct any shortcomings in a fiscally responsible manner, in order to achieve those outcomes.
